Bina Jawwad

Kathak Performer, Co-founder "Harsukh"

Bina Jawwad is a prominent Pakistani Kathak performer and the co-founder of the school “Harsukh”. She also teaches Kathak at LGS. She received her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the Punjab University, and later trained for Kathak under the tutelage of Maharaj Ghulam Hussein Kathak from 1974 to 1999. She then received classical vocals training from the classical vocalist Mirza Nasser ud din, who was a disciple of the renowned Qawwali singer of Delhi’s Qawwal Bacchon Gharana, Ustad Sardar Khan. She and her husband founded Harsukh together to serve as a community of artists, thinkers and organic farmers which is promoting an alternative view of life that is deeply rooted in the Pakistani culture.
