Dr Arfa Syeda Zehra

Dr Arfa Sayeda Zehra is Professor Emeritus, Iqra University, Karachi and UNESCO Chair in the National College of Arts. She is one of those rare individuals who combine thought, real vision, passion, intellect, and charm. Her creativity is reflected in her thinking, writing, speaking, and innovation in interdisciplinary studies rooted in history, literature and culture. As an academic, researcher, analyst, and critical thinker she possesses the ability to think reflectively and independently, allowing her to positively utilise her sensitivity to life and contribute towards the discourse on literature and culture through her talks at literature festivals, key notes and lectures at academic and culture institutions, and reviews of new books. The Government College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore, dedicated an academic building named after her, recognising her contribution to the world of academia with her leadership. Dr Zehra is a recipient of the Fatima Jinnah Award, the Fellowship by National College of Arts, Lahore, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from East West Center, Hawaii, USA.
