Rizwan Beyg

Founder, Bunyyaad

Rizwan Beyg is a renowned Pakistani fashion designer, known for his efforts in preserving and reviving traditional crafts, particularly in rural areas. With a career spanning several decades, he is celebrated for merging indigenous craftsmanship with contemporary fashion, ensuring that traditional skills are not lost but instead adapted to modern markets.

He is a founding member of Aik Hunar Aik Nagar (AHAN), a government initiative where he has collaborated with organisations like UNDP, USAID, and other donor agencies, working on community-based projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh. These efforts led to the creation of Bunyyaad in 2014, a project focused on craft revival and sustainable income generation for indigenous artisans. Mr Beyg has also been appointed Design Consultant by NAMA and UNHCR, fostering cross-cultural craft development between Pakistan and rural Emirati regions.

His contributions earned him the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian honour from the Government of Pakistan.
