Sidra Iqbal

Journalist & TV Host

Sidra Iqbal is an internationally acclaimed journalist and TV host, producing one of Pakistan’s leading daily news show - Aaj Pakistan with Sidra Iqbal. She intently curates the content she presents to provide an inclusive advocacy platform for social impact and representation. With several hundred hours of live television clocked in, she has moderated conversations with government, social and business leaders, gaining in-depth understanding on public policy subjects. Her journey in finding her voice for positive impact began in 1999. She won the English Speaking Union's International Public Speaking Championship in London and was awarded by HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. In 2005, she served as the Youth Advisor to the Ministry of Education, UAE for their programme, Women as Global Leaders and later won a scholarship to ESU International Relations Summer programme at the Oxford University. She is also a recipient of the GR8 Women Award for Journalism in Dubai for meaningful contribution in Advocacy, by the Government of UAE and the Indian Television Academy. Iqbal has worked on the intersection of social impact and tech, representing Pakistan to contribute in the UNESCO 2015 study “Keystones to Foster Inclusive Knowledge Societies”. She is a Global Fellow of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) 52 in Singapore, focused on accountability and transparency of Internet Governance. She is also an Alumna of International Leaders Program 2016, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Government of UK and International Visitors Leadership Program 2011, by the US State Department.
