Irum Mumtaz is the founder and the Managing Director of the Institute of Dyslexia, Education and Attitudinal Studies (IDEAS), established in 2013. IDEAS is the first institution in Islamabad which takes a pragmatic approach in helping children with Dyslexia or Specific Learning Disability (SLD). She is a nationally acclaimed Remedial Therapist with more than 23 years of teaching experience. Mumtaz has contributed significantly to raising awareness about Dyslexia, introducing the concept of inclusive education and teachere training programmess, and is associated with various educational institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. She completed her MEd in Special Education from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad and completed diploma in Dyslexia/ Specific Learning Disabilities from READ Institute, Karachi, and Certifications in Traumatology from Psychological Relief, South Africa, Islamabad and French Language Certification from NUML, Islamabad.
