Dr Masood Arshad

Senior Director - Footprint, WWF-Pakistan

Dr Masood Arshad is a hardcore conservationist with over 28 years of professional experience in the fields of environmental conservation, forest, wildlife, ecology and rural development. He has a rich academic background from the Newcastle University, UK and the Quaid-i-Azam University and Pakistan Forest Institute. He also studied Inspiration Leadership from IMD Business School. Arshad has been a part of the World Wildlife Fund for Nature, Pakistan, since December 1993 and is currently the Senior Director - Footprint, leading Freshwater, Food Security, and Climate Change and Energy Programmes along with Governance and Policy aspects of the organisation. He has co-authored books and produced a wide range of peer reviewed research publications. Arshad is a strong advocate of nature-based solutions in the country and aims to make them a mainstream part of the national planning agenda. His overall experience is an impeccable combination of technical, managerial, analytical and administrative abilities with command over stakeholder engagement, business development, M&E, policy design execution, and strategic partnership development. Arshad is currently engaged in planning rehabilitation work after the monsoon floods of 2022; the Recharge Pakistan initiative, will start its implementation from 2024.
