Dr Ammar Malik

Senior Research Scientist, AidData, The College of William & Mary

Dr Ammar A. Malik is a Senior Research Scientist at AidData, a research lab at The College of William & Mary, where he leads the Chinese Development Finance Programme that uses pioneering methodologies to track and analyse underreported financial flows from non-traditional donors to developing countries. Previously, he was Director of Research at Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD), a research initiative of the Center for International Development at Harvard University, where he led research-policy collaborations by deploying evidence-based insights and training to improve public policies and leadership. He is a co-author on UNESCO`s Global Education Monitoring Report 2022, where he contributed a chapter on ancillary education services in Pakistan. A proud alumnus of Beaconhouse (1987-1995), Malik holds a Bachelor`s in Economics and Mathematics from LUMS, a dual Master`s in Public Policy and Public Affairs from the National University of Singapore and Sciences Po, Paris; and a PhD in Public Policy from George Mason University.
