Rashid Rana is widely considered to be one of the leading artists of his generation in South Asia, and emerged as the creator of an entirely new kind of art from Pakistan. He has exhibited extensively at various galleries and museums, globally. His works are displayed in various public and private collections including the British Museum, London and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. He is the recipient of prestigious awards including Game Changer Asia Art Award, and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz by in 2022. Primarily known for his art practice, Rana, in fact, occupies multiple simultaneous profiles. He mediates between artist, educator and a curator. He is a founding faculty member and currently the Dean of the School of Visual Arts and Design at BNU, Lahore. His pioneering work with new media set a precedent, inspiring the new generation of Pakistani artists to adopt the technique.
