Wusat Ullah Khan

Journalist & Co-host

Wusat Ullah Khan has been a working journalist for more than four decades. He writes weekly columns for BBC Urdu online, BBC Hindi, and Deutsche Welle (Voice of Germany), and a bi-weekly column for Daily Express Pakistan. He is best known as the co-host of Dawn News daily talk show 'Zara Hut Kay' which he has been associated with since August 2015. As a Roaming Correspondent /Producer in BBC Urdu Service, from 1991 to 2015, he covered the 2003 Iraq War, from Baghdad, Cairo, Amman, and Istanbul, and was in Beirut during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. He also reported on the Lok Sabha elections of 2004 and 2009 while touring 13 states of India, and Jammu &Kashmir. Mr Khan also produced a series of travelogue documentaries for BBC Urdu TV and covered the 2005 earthquake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Jammu & Kashmir. His reporting travelogue of 2010 floods was published as 'Sailab Diaries' by Pakistan Study Centre, University of Karachi.

During his career, he has interviewed the likes of L K Advani, Dalai Lama, and Khushwant Singh. He conducts workshops & trainings on reporting skills, writing techniques, safety matters, etc. for professional journalists and broadcasters.
