Imrana Tiwana

Architect, Environmentalist & Sustainable Development Specialist

Imrana Tiwana is a distinguished architect, environmentalist, and sustainable development specialist leading the Climate Change, Environment & Sustainability Initiative at BNU Lahore. Principal Architect at Imrana Tiwana & Associates, she has significant experience at firms like Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in New York, where she contributed to the urban regeneration of Times Square.

With international experience in the US, Malaysia, Canada, Japan, and Sri Lanka, Ms Tiwana has addressed critical issues in climate change and urban planning. Notably, she was key in redesigning Kuala Lumpur's urban landscape in collaboration with Harvard and MIT consultants, a project commissioned by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad. She has been recognised as one of the 30 Most Prominent Women of Pakistan, and has contributed to UNESCO reports as well as the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. She holds a Master’s degree from MIT and a joint degree with Harvard.
