Mehnaz Akber Aziz

CEO & Founding Director, Children`s Global Network Pakistan

Mehnaz Akber Aziz is the CEO of Children’s Global Network Pakistan and a former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Law and Justice. She has dedicated her career to advancing child rights and early childhood education, particularly in marginalised communities, through her organisation. She also chairs the country’s first Special Parliamentary SDGs Committee on Child Rights and has co-chaired the Executive Council of the International Parliamentary Network for Education (IPNEd), strengthening parliamentary alliances to promote inclusive and equitable education.

During her five-year term in Parliament, she was one of only ten women directly elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in the 2018 elections, and became a strong advocate for gender mainstreaming, child rights, women’s economic empowerment, and political participation. She has driven landmark legislation, including the Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Bill 2021, the Rights of Domestic Workers Bill 2021, amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA 2016), and the 2021 Constitutional Amendment on age of majority.

Ms Aziz has over twenty years of experience in the social sector, working to improve public sector delivery systems, strengthen civil society organisations, and build networks across government, academia, media, and international stakeholders.
