Munizae Jahangir

Munizae Jahangir is a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker, currently anchoring a flagship current affairs show ‘Spotlight with Munizae Jahangir’on one of Pakistan’s leading media news networks, Aaj TV. She is co-founder and editor-in-chief of voicepk.net, a digital media platform focusing on human rights issues. Since 2004, Jahangir has been anchoring and reporting for prominent news media outlets in Pakistan, including Dawn and Geo. She was also the first Pakistani journalist to have reported for an Indian news channel, NDTV as its country correspondent for ten years. Her high-profile interviews include Hillary Clinton; Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan; Benazir Bhutto; Nawaz Sharif; Imran Khan; Malala Yousafzai; and Bollywood actors, Salman Khan and Shabana Azmi. She has conducted cross-border audience-based talk shows with India and Afghanistan and has reported from Afghanistan, India, Nepal, South Africa, the USA, the UK, China, Switzerland, and Myanmar. Her documentary 'Search for Freedom' which captured the lives of four women amid the Afghan conflict, received notable recognition and won an award. Jahangir was honoured as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She serves on the board of the Asma Jahangir Legal Aid Cell and is a founding member of South Asian Women in Media and a council member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
