Zainab Sikander

Film & Media Researcher

Zainab Sikander is a film and media researcher whose work explores the intersections of cinema, culture, memory, and identity. Her interests span filmmaking, cultural research, and writing, with a focus on how stories are preserved, identities are represented, and individual experiences become part of collective cultural histories.

Drawing on film theory and visual culture, she examines how images shape meaning and how technology influences the stories we tell and the ways we see the world. Her recent work explores authorship, representation and creative ownership in the age of artificial intelligence, particularly in relation to cultural identity and the power structures embedded in the images we create and consume.

She graduated with first-class honours in Media, Communications and Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London.
