Haider Ali Shishmahal

Education Technologist, Psychometrics Specialist, Game Theorist & Social Entrepreneur

Haider Ali Shishmahal is an education technologist, psychometrics specialist, game theorist, and social entrepreneur, currently leading learning and innovation initiatives at Teach the World Foundation. He also served as Executive Director of the Harvard Club of Pakistan, focusing on advancing educational innovation and leadership.

Over his career spanning more than two decades, Mr Shishmahal has made significant contributions to foundational literacy, EdTech innovation, and non-formal education reform across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malawi, and South Sudan. He began his teaching career at Karachi Grammar School and Haque Academy, later training teachers at the Notre Dame Institute of Education, where he received the Outstanding Teacher Award for pedagogical excellence. He has represented Pakistan internationally as Transformative Technology Chapter Lead, Global Game Jam Scholarship Fellow, and International Ambassador at the Game Developers Conference. His published research and writing reflect a lifelong commitment to bridging psychology, technology, and learning for social transformation.

Mr Shishmahal holds degrees from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), King’s College London, and Harvard University, where he earned an Ed.M. in Human Development & Psychology as a Fulbright Scholar. He has also been recognised with the LUMS Honoured Alumni Award for his contributions to education and innovation.
