Dr Suleman Shahid

Founding Faculty Director LUMSx & Associate Professor of Computer Science, LUMS

Dr Suleman Shahid is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at LUMS and Director of the Computer-Human Interaction for Inclusion, Wellbeing, and Learning (CHISEL) Lab, where he leads the development of inclusive technologies that enhance learning and support mental health. He is also affiliated with the National Center on Big Data and Cloud Computing and heads the Open Data Pakistan initiative, the country’s first national open-data portal.

He previously served as the Founding Director of LUMSx, the Centre for Online Learning and Professional Development, and the LUMS Learning Institute, both of which strengthen the university’s excellence in teaching and learning through digital innovation.

Dr Shahid’s research focuses on assistive and immersive (VR/AR) technologies designed to support individuals with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, dementia, and depression, bridging the fields of education, health, and social innovation.
