Writer & Young Policy Advocate

Faris Ahmed is a student leader, writer, and young policy advocate dedicated to climate justice and refugee rights. As the co-author of Pakistan’s first climate refugee bill tabled in the National Assembly, he has championed protections for communities displaced by climate change. His academic work includes research with Brown University’s Prof. Vazira Zamindar for a forthcoming Cambridge University Press volume on forced migration.

Mr Ahmed regularly contributes to national discourse through bylines in Dawn, The News, and Geo. He has also served as a panel moderator at the Lahore Literary Festival.

Most recently, he was one of three international students, and the only representative from Pakistan, invited to speak at a panel during Bangkok Climate Action Week. Organized by the International Education Group at Cambridge University, the session spotlighted the landmark climate refugee bill he conceived and co-drafted, as well as his insights on the escalating impacts of climate change on countries like Pakistan.
