Irfana Yasser

Journalist, Trainer & Media Strategist

Irfana Yasser is a journalist, trainer, and media strategist with 20 years of experience. She currently serves as Senior Journalist Planning at BBC World Service and Co-Chair of BBC’s Global Women in News (GWiN) network, advocating for inclusive workplace policies for women across BBC bureaus.

Her career spans major networks including Geo, Express News, Capital TV, ARY News, and BBC Urdu, where she held roles such as Broadcast Journalist, Social Media Editor, and Women Engagement Champion. She has produced and commissioned health-focused stories, including COVID-19 daily bulletins, and has led media development initiatives, mentoring journalists and conducting in-person training sessions. She also worked as a Report Writer for FAFEN and as Development Communication Officer for the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives.
