Malcolm Payton is an experienced educationalist who spent many years as a manager of schools before moving into consultancy and advisory roles where he led national projects in Scotland, England and the Middle East. He is now Director of Schools for Beaconhouse in the UK and enjoys being part of the wider Beaconhouse family.
Malcolm has very broad experience in education, having managed education establishments at all levels. He has also helped to drive forward educational reform through his role on committees including the “Higher Still” group responsible for developing and implementing a new secondary curriculum and assessment system, and the national Digital Content Advisory Panel. He has specific experience in school leadership and has been commissioned by two national agencies to develop materials to support leadership and development in schools.
Throughout his career, Malcolm has been at the forefront of learning through technology. As a Professional Advisor to the Scottish Government, he helped develop GLOW, the world’s first national intranet for schools, and later led the digital content for schools project for the Ministry of Education in Qatar.
