Anthony Xavier is presently the Head of School for Beaconhouse Sri Inai private secondary school in the city of Petaling Jaya in Malaysia. The school has students studying from Secondary Form 1 till Secondary Form 5 where they sit for the Malaysian Certificate of Education , the equivalent of the Cambridge O levels.
Xavier has been involved in education since 1979 starting out as a Chemistry teacher preparing students for the Malaysian Certificate of Education for about 20 years. In his years of service in the field of education, he was appointed as Extra-curricular Coordinator for Games and Sports and later, in 1995, appointed as principal of Sekolah Sri Inai , Petaling Jaya until 2005, the Sri Inai group being one of the pioneering groups of private education in Malaysia. In 2006, when Beaconhouse Malaysia took over Sekolah Sri Inai , Petaling Jaya, he was appointed as Head of School for Beaconhouse Sri Inai School , Petaling Jaya.
Xavier has always been passionate about his role in education and as a facilitator for secondary students, continually advocating a practice of first-hand interaction and involvement with students. In particular, he has been a prime mover for doing theatre, drama and music in school. “The King and I “, “Flower Drum Song”, “The Mikado”, and “My Fair Lady” are some of the musicals he has worked on with secondary students over the years.
